Dr Andrew Affleck
Dr Affleck graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1997, BSC (Hons), MB ChB, and having trained in the West of Scotland and then Nottingham was appointed as a Consultant at Ninewells Hospital & Medical School, Dundee in 2008 after a 1-year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery. His main clinical and research interests are skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, dermatological surgery, male genital skin disorders and psychodermatology.

Dr Andrew MacKenzie
About Me:
My medical journey began at Edinburgh Medical School obtaining my MBChB in 2006 and then proceeded to postgraduate general medical training: recognised by my MRCP(UK) in 2010.
I was fortunate to receive rigorous Dermatology training in Edinburgh, achieving MRCP (DERM) in 2014. I have since had the privilege of serving as a Consultant Dermatologist over the past decade- with extensive experience in both the NHS and private sectors across Tayside, Lothian and the Borders.
Specialist Interests:
I practice the full breadth of General Dermatology but my sub-specialist interests include:
• Dermatological Surgery- appealing to my precision and keen attention to detail, I am proficient in advanced reconstruction techniques including flap and graft repairs
• Skin Lesion management (including skin cancers as well as benign lumps and bumps)
• Medical Dermatology- including facial rashes such as acne and rosacea but also inflammatory rashes such as eczema and psoriasis, for which I have robust experience in using advanced treatments, including biologics, small molecule agents and systemic therapies in severe disease.
Philosophy:
My practice is guided by a commitment to delivering safe, effective, evidence-based care with empathy. I believe in tailoring precise treatments to suit each patient's unique needs, incorporating the latest advancements in diagnostics and therapeutics.
Personal Interests:
Beyond Dermatology, I treasure moments spent with my family: revelling in the joys of parenthood with my wonderful young children and finding joy in leisurely walks with my dog.

Dr Alastair Mitchell
Dr Mitchell graduated in Medicine & Surgery from The University of Aberdeen with intercalated honours in 2009. After securing popular rotations for Foundation and Core Medical Training in Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively, in 2014 Dr Mitchell went on to start Specialty Training in Dermatology here in Dundee. He later completed his training via the highly competitive national training number route in the South West of England. Upon completing training in Exeter (CCT), in 2019 Dr Mitchell returned home and worked as a consultant in NHS Lothian before moving to NHS Fife where he holds a substantive post.
Dr Mitchell is experienced in all areas of adult general dermatology but has subspecialist interests in skin surgery, the management of skin cancer, psoriasis, transplant dermatology, difficult acne and urticaria.
Dr Mitchell lives in the West End with his wife, Jennifer. He can occasionally be seen running (rather slowly) alongside the silvery Tay.
